Ethiopian knock-out championship kicks-off Wednesday
The Ethiopian knock-out championship kicks off Wednesday featuring 11 premier league sides. It seems amazing that there is no single club from the National League taking part.
Though knock-out fixtures traditionally are open participation regardless of divisional hierarchies, only eleven premier league sides are taking part for the two weeks fixture. The first group stage brings together eight sides while the remaining three: Saint George, Ethiopian Coffee and Sidama Coffee are in waiting, ready for the second round group stage. Ethiopian Coffee (soccer team) hails title heroes
Ethiopian premier league champion Ethiopian Coffee gave away cash prizes to players and coaches. Menyahel Teshome currently with Dedebit FC goes home with a peanut pay check. Only 400 supporters attended the event.
