The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange has been so successful trading produces like coffee, sesame, peas and beans that many other African countries want to model the way they have modernized trading and increased the income of their farmers.

Pan-African commodity exchange begins next year

Bourse Africa Limited (BAL), the first pan-African commodity spot and multi-asset class exchange, has announced that it will commence operations in mid 2012.
At the press conference held in Addis Ababa at the Sheraton Addis on Wednesday November 9, Bourse officials, said that BAL is establishing a pan-African exchange platform in Botswana and a network of linked exchanges, fully localized in national and regional markets across the continent.

Ethiopia: the fastest growing economy next to Ghana

The 2011 African Economic Outlook Report (AEOR) ranked Ethiopia the second fastest growing economy in Africa. The report declared Ghana as the first fastest growing economy in the continent at a rate of 12 percent this European year.
The AEOR is an annual report that combines expertise of the African Development Bank, OECD Development Center, United Nation Development Program and the United Nations Development Economic Commission for Africa.
